OXFORD, UK: The International Life Sciences Awards has named PrecisionLife as the Best Chronic Disease Biology R&D Company 2021.

The International Life Sciences Awards has named PrecisionLife as the Best Chronic Disease Biology R&D Company 2021.

Now in their sixth year, the awards, hosted by Global Health and Pharma (GHP), recognize excellence within healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Previous winners at the awards have included Amgen, Kaiser Permanente, Novartis, PRA Health Sciences and Roche.

On winning the award, Dr Steve Gardner, CEO of PrecisionLife commented:

“PrecisionLife is extremely proud to be recognized as the Best Chronic Disease Biology R&D Company in this year’s International Life Science Awards. Winning this award is acknowledgement of our incredible team and our unique combinatorial analytics that are driving precision medicine in chronic diseases, finding better treatment options for unmet medical needs so that patients can live longer, healthier lives.”

In addition to being named Best Chronic Disease Biology R&D Company 2021, PrecisionLife was also rewarded with a Distinction Award. This was for the company’s COVID-19 Host Susceptibility Analysis.

Using combinatorial analysis, PrecisionLife finds additional signal in patient datasets that is invisible to existing genetic analysis methods.

Only the PrecisionLife platform can enable this unique approach. The research helped to accelerate global efforts to identify genetic factors for severe COVID-19 susceptibility. The PrecisionLife platform generated multiple insights that would not have otherwise been possible. These included insights into the genetics, clinical presentation, pathology and treatment of COVID-19 patients.
