The Group Finance Director will take over the day-to-day responsibility for the financial management of the company and its three subsidiaries. This is an exciting opportunity to create and grow a finance department in an international expansion phase business.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of periodically consolidated financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries
  • Prepare financial reports for the CFO for presentation at the Board Meetings
  • Responsible for all financial and statutory compliance. Including assisting statutory year-end audit and filing of all appropriate documentation to Companies House (Capital (SH01), Directors, Confirmation Statements, and Accounts) and HMRC (PAYE, VAT, P11Ds, P600, EIS, ERS, EMI, etc.)
  • Managing accounts receivable/payable, banking and payroll
  • Financial management with multiple currencies
  • Support to the Senior Management and Board on funding, fundraising and corporate transactions (CAP table management, share options, Series A/B, EIS, grants)
  • Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium- and long-term business planning and financial planning
  • Working with the CFO/CEO to design and implement an appropriate level of corporate governance procedures and management policies
  • Managing external financial and corporate resources, consultants (Legal counsel, bookkeeping, payroll, taxes, auditor, R&D consultant, equity management platform and Forex management partner)
  • Other duties as required from time to time by the Management team

Requirements

  • Qualified finance professional to at least CIMA/ACCA qualified with substantial experience (expected equivalent of minimum three years)
  • Successful track record of financial management and reporting
  • Team player with the willingness to do a broad range of tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work effectively to tight deadlines within a collaborative team-orientated environment using sound judgement in decision-making
  • Organised and detail-oriented, being able to prioritise and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently
  • In depth knowledge of Xero

What we're looking for

  • Good communication and presentation skills in English
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Confidence to make suggestions and influence change
  • Ability to work well under pressure, while paying attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong collaboration focus and the ability to build strong relationships
