Oxford, UK – 25 January 2023 – The UK Bioindustry Association (BIA) has announced PrecisionLife CEO and Co-founder, Dr Steve Gardner, as the new Chair of the national Genomics Advisory Committee. Dr Gardner will be joined by newly appointed Vice Chair Dr Danuta Jeziorska, CEO and Co-founder of Nucleome Therapeutics.

The Genomics Advisory Committee aims to influence and engage with the key strategic programmes that enable the UK to start, scale and build world-leading genomic businesses, providing a platform for discussion between genomic companies and collective input to relevant policy discussions.
Steve has over 30 years’ experience of developing and commercialising ground-breaking data science and informatics in the life sciences, healthcare, and agri-tech sectors.
In the role, Drs Gardner and Jeziorska will set the strategic direction of the committee and be a key interface between its members, the BIA board, and the UK government.

Companies and organisations represented on the Committee include AstraZeneca, Bayer, Eagle Genomics, Illumina, IQVIA, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, PrecisionLife, Roche, ThermoFisher Scientific, and the Wellcome Sanger Institute.
